Remember, you can combine mushrooms and ground meat in recipes to bring another serving of vegetables to the plate, add volume to meals, and extend portions. Family favourites like burgers, spaghetti, pizza, and burritos can be amplified by substituting a portion of the ground meat with mushrooms to add their unique, umami flavour. Since finely chopped mushrooms look similar and blend in with ground meat, you’ll have all the flavour and texture of classic comfort foods with a boost of nutrition. Mushrooms provide important nutrients like iron, zinc, vitamin D, potassium, B vitamins and the antioxidants selenium and ergothioneine.
