Got too many overripe bananas and not sure what to do with it? Find yourself drawing a blank asking what goes well with banana? Check out these classic combos, and play around with different complementing flavours like chocolate, peanut butter, and banana!

Bananas go well with:

Sweets, spices, and other flavours: chocolate, honey, sugar, maple syrup, marshmallows, dulce de leche, caramel, bourbon, rum, cinnamon, nutmeg, and vanilla

Dairy: Milk, cream, ricotta, mascarpone, whipped cream, and butter

Savoury: oatmeal, rice, peanut butter, almond butter, hazelnut, chia seeds, and walnuts

Produce: avocado, strawberries, pineapple, coconut, mango, raspberries, black berries, cherries, lemons, apples, raisins, oranges, blueberries, kiwis, and dates

Serving Ideas

There are so many things you can do with bananas! Whole as a snack or for breakfast is always a great choice, but you can slice them to have with toast spread with jam, peanut butter or even hazelnut-chocolate.

They make a great addition to pancakes and crepes as well.

As an after school snack, kids love banana “roll-ups”. Take a tortilla and thinly spread your nut butter of choice in the middle with strawberry jam. Then place a whole, peeled banana on it, and roll up like an enchilada. Cut into 1” pieces and serve! You may need a toothpick to hold it in place, but it’s not necessary.

Bananas are also great for making into soft-serve ice cream, or garnishing cakes or pies.
