The team at Gwillimdale Farms is committed to farm fresh thinking. That’s why they go the extra mile to ensure your family enjoys only the freshest, best quality veggies. How? Well, their family grows and harvests sustainably and then they also clean, pack and ship it out themselves, direct to your favourite store.  Investing in the full supply chain enables Gwillimdale Farms to ensure consistent, premium quality carrots, potatoes, onions, beets and parsnips.

Owned by the Hambly family for five generations, this modern business continually invests in up to date technology to stay ahead of their competition.  Some of the innovations on-site in Bradford, Ontario include UV water treatments to avoid the use of unnecessary added chemicals in their food cleaning operations and solar panels to provide half the power required by their packing facility.  They have a strict crop rotation system to maintain soil health and create a natural compost fertilizer using any vegetables that are unsuitable for sale.  They even own their own fleet of trucks to ensure that their food is delivered fresh.

In terms of vegetable packaging, the company’s three production lines can wash, bag and cut – if required – an average of 250,000 pounds (five tractor trailer loads) of vegetables a day. While most of the vegetables processed have been grown on their own farm, Gwillimdale Farms do also purchase produce from preferred partners.  They supply from local farmers, the United States and Mexico throughout the year to ensure constant supply and excellent quality for their retail and food service customers.

The Hambly Family and the rest of the team continue to grow Gwillimdale to be a quality grower and supplier of fresh root vegetables for North American markets. Regularly travelling and scouring the world for new technology and ideas, they continue to invest in new, efficient equipment and recently also expanded their farming operations into northern Ontario.
