Ontario Apple Butter
A perfect condiment for toast, pancakes or fruit parfaits, Ontario Apple Butter is as versatile as it is delicious.

- 2 Lbs. Ontario Apples, Peeled, Cored, and Diced in 1/4 Inch Pieces
- 3/4 Cup Granulated Sugar
- 1/2 Cup Apple Cider
- 2 Tbsp. Apple Cider Vinegar
- 1/2 Tsp. Cinnamon
Instructions
Step 1
Combine all ingredients in heavy-bottomed saucepan and place over medium-low heat.Step 2
Cook uncovered, stirring occasionally, until apples are very tender and have darkened (about 60 to 70 minutes).Step 3
Leave to cool completely.Step 4
Puree using blender or immersion blender.Step 5
Transfer to clean container, cover and chill in refrigerator for up to two weeks.
Variety Tip: For best results, use Ontario Cortland, Northern Spy or Idared Apples.
