Ontario Mushroom Pesto and Ricotta Pizza

Easy to make but tastes gourmet! This Ontario mushroom and pesto pizza features a crispy crust topped with fragrant basil pesto, sauteed garlic mushrooms, creamy ricotta, and melty mozzarella for a rich yet balanced bite. Comfort food at its best!

  • 1 Ball Prepared Pizza Dough
  • 1 Tbsp. Olive Oil
  • 1 Clove Garlic, Minced
  • 227g (One Small Carton) Ontario Cremini Mushrooms, Sliced
  • To Taste Salt and Pepper
  • For Rolling Out the Dough All-Purpose Flour
  • 1/4 – 1/3 Cup Prepared or Store-Bought Basil Pesto
  • 1/2 Cup Ricotta Cheese
  • 1 Cup Mozzarella Cheese, Grated

Instructions

  1. Step 1

    Preheat your oven to 425°F.
  2. Step 2

    Sauté the mushrooms: Heat the olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and cook for about 30 seconds, just until fragrant. Add the sliced mushrooms and sauté for 5–7 minutes, stirring occasionally, until they release their moisture and are tender and lightly browned. Season with salt and pepper to taste. Remove from heat and set aside.
  3. Step 3

    Prepare the dough. On a lightly floured surface, stretch or roll the pizza dough into your desired shape. Transfer it to a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  4. Step 4

    Spread the pesto evenly over the dough, leaving a small border for the crust. Dollop the ricotta in small spoonfuls across the pizza. Scatter the sautéed mushrooms evenly over the top. Sprinkle the grated mozzarella evenly over everything.
  5. Step 5

    Bake for 10-14 minutes, or until the crust is golden and the cheese is melted and bubbly.
  6. Step 6

    Let the pizza cool for 5 minutes before slicing and serving.
